About the Role:
As a Cybersecurity Analyst you will play a critical role in protecting our organization's sensitive data and systems from cyber threats. You will monitor networks, detect security breaches, and implement measures to prevent and respond to cyberattacks.
Responsibilities:
Threat Monitoring:
Monitor networks, systems, and applications for signs of unauthorized access, malicious activity, or vulnerabilities.
Analyse security logs and alerts to identify potential threats.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our security infrastructure.
Incident Response:
Respond to security incidents promptly and effectively, following established incident response procedures.
Contain and mitigate the impact of security breaches.
Investigate the root cause of incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Security Controls:
Implement and maintain security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software.
Review and update security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Provide security training and awareness to employees to help prevent security breaches.
Risk Management:
Assess and manage security risks, including identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
Conduct audits and assessments to verify compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a similar role.
Strong understanding of network and system security concepts.
Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners).
Ability to analyse security data and identify potential threats.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA).
Experience with cloud security and virtualization technologies.
