About the Role:

As a Cybersecurity Analyst you will play a critical role in protecting our organization's sensitive data and systems from cyber threats. You will monitor networks, detect security breaches, and implement measures to prevent and respond to cyberattacks.

Responsibilities:

  • Threat Monitoring:

    • Monitor networks, systems, and applications for signs of unauthorized access, malicious activity, or vulnerabilities.

    • Analyse security logs and alerts to identify potential threats.

    • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our security infrastructure.

  • Incident Response:

    • Respond to security incidents promptly and effectively, following established incident response procedures.

    • Contain and mitigate the impact of security breaches.

    • Investigate the root cause of incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Security Controls:

    • Implement and maintain security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software.

    • Review and update security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    • Provide security training and awareness to employees to help prevent security breaches.

  • Risk Management:

    • Assess and manage security risks, including identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.

    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

  • Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).

    • Conduct audits and assessments to verify compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of network and system security concepts.

  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS, SIEM, vulnerability scanners).

  • Ability to analyse security data and identify potential threats.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA).

  • Experience with cloud security and virtualization technologies.
