Job Title: Engineering Manager

Reports To: Head of Engineering

Key Responsibilities


Team Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of engineers.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team.

  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Project Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering projects.

  • Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress.

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.

  • Manage project risks and proactively identify potential issues.

Technical Oversight:

  • Ensure engineering work adheres to established standards and best practices.

  • Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that engineering products and services meet customer requirements.

  • Conduct quality reviews and audits.

  • Identify and address quality issues effectively.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, executives, and team members.

  • Manage expectations and address concerns promptly.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Innovation:

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance our products and services.

  • Encourage the team to think creatively and propose innovative solutions.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes, tools, and workflows, promoting best practices in Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Recruitment & Talent Management: Participate in recruiting and onboarding new engineers, managing team capacity to meet business goals.

  • Performance Management: Help engineers set and achieve career development goals through regular feedback and performance reviews.

  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands, ensuring the team has the necessary tools and support for efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 5 years in engineering management.

  • Strong technical expertise in the relevant engineering field.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Work Environment

This role is typically office-based, with some flexibility for remote work depending on company policies. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, conferences, or client engagements.
