About the Role:

As a Financial Controller at SYNE, you will play a critical role in overseeing the company's financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing risk, and providing strategic financial advice to support business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).

    • Prepare and submit financial reports to regulatory bodies.

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Develop and manage financial forecasts and budgets.

    • Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

    • Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and assess financial risks.

    • Implement strategies to mitigate risk and protect the company's financial health.

  • Internal Controls:

    • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

    • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.

  • Tax Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

    • Prepare and file tax returns.

  • Treasury Management:

    • Manage cash flow and liquidity.

    • Oversee banking relationships and investments.

  • Financial Systems:

    • Select, implement, and maintain financial accounting systems.

    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

  • CPA or CA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.

  • Experience with financial management software.
